About the Birmingham Branch Foundation

The development of the AAUW Birmingham Branch Foundation, Inc., was based on careful study and reflection.  In 2007, the AAUW Birmingham Branch Board of Directors established the Foundation to support the Branch mission based activities.

The Birmingham Branch is a 501(c)3 charitable nonprofit dedicated to funding the education and outreach mission of AAUW Birmingham Branch.

Opportunities of Women and Girls supported by AAUW Birmingham Branch Foundation, Inc.

    • College scholarships based on need and merit paid directly to the college for a student from Pontiac, Birmingham and Bloomfield Hills
    • College scholarships selected by the college to women attending:  Oakland Community College, Lawrence Technological University and Walsh College
    • With and emphasis on  STEM, Explorathon introduces young women grades 8-12 to educational choices, college life/experiences and career options. Presentations and workshops led by professional women and current college students.
    • For women seeking post secondary opportunities, Level Up is designed to assist women in accessing education opportunities with emphasis on job skills and career opportunities.
    • Recruitment and funding for student leaders to attend the National Conference of College Women Student Leaders (NCCWSL)
